Our commitment in Varanasi
The social position of women and girls in large parts of Indian society is still characterized by oppression and discrimination. That is why we have not only created a safe space for our female colleagues with our Gratitude Factory, but also want to support their daughters in growing up to become self-determined, educated women.
With the help of our Shakti Rising Scholarship we enable all the daughters of our colleagues in Varanasi to attend a private school with full board. They receive school uniforms and teaching materials to enable them to get through their school day with all the necessary resources. Here they can study for as long as they like, receive support and thus have a better chance of shaping their future according to their wishes and dreams. Our program is intended for families who cannot normally afford schooling. The costs generally amount to around 16,000 euros for the entire education at one of the private schools.
